Do you know who your boss is? The growth of the infomal economy of the underworld of the construction industry brings about more and more cases of workers who do not know who their boss is, especially at the levels of small subcontractors who occupy the bottom rungs of the pyramid. These workers are often paid in cash, if at all, and are often unaware of who issues the check, often delivered to an itermediate agent posing as a subcontrator who cashes it and distributes the cash to the individual workers after giving himself a generous commission.
